Bison News started has a small student project in 2016. The first few episodes were filmed in a small room of a size of a closet with a single Ipad. Few weeks later, Bison News pushed down the barrier and invaded the school computer lab and got their first camera with the help of Home & School.
During the first year, Bison News won a 'Coup de Coeur' Award at the Gala Osentreprendre Regional Montreal. Finally hard work paid off. On its second year, the crew requested a bigger room for their club and it got granted. From then, Bison News got a studio. Bison News decided to share its knowledge to young ones by creating the Bison News Mentorship program in which consist in giving workshops to elementary students on how to create their own News Channel. At the end of that year, the crew's hard work was recognized once again by getting invited to present their partnership with Sherbrooke Academy Junior to the Board of Commissioners in May 2018 Three years later, after giving 2 workshops to a school board wide improvement day and one to the CCI conference in Montreal, Bison News added another recognition by being on tv 3 times on Citytv Montreal and the demand of the workshops expanded! Now, it is time for a new challenge starting with an online course. |
